Philadelphia delivered 24,010,000 Mercury dimes in 1924, a moderate production year. Calvin Coolidge, who had assumed the presidency after Warren Harding's death in August 1923, was elected in his own right that November. The economy was strengthening, and the Roaring Twenties were beginning to build the speculative momentum that would carry through the decade. The 1924 is a common date available in all grades. Full Bands Mint State examples are readily obtainable.
