Philadelphia's 2026 Polly Cooper dollar lands in the year of the United States Semiquincentennial and is the closing reverse of the Native American $1 program's annual rotation, which has run since 2009 under the Native American $1 Coin Act of 2007. The reverse, designed by Artistic Infusion Program artist Beth Zaiken and sculpted by Medallic Artist Craig Campbell, shows Polly Cooper, an Oneida woman of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, presenting a basket of white corn to General George Washington, who holds his hat in respect. The scene anchors a documented Revolutionary-War episode: in the winter of 1777-1778 Cooper traveled with Chief Skenandoah and Han Yerry from Oneida country in central New York to the Continental Army camp at Valley Forge with a delivery of corn, then remained at the encampment to teach soldiers the preparation method, since Iroquois white corn requires extended boiling and lye treatment unknown to Continental cooks. The obverse retains Glenna Goodacre's Sacagawea portrait and adds a Liberty Bell privy mark below IN GOD WE TRUST, with the numeral 250 arranged vertically on the bell, the same 250th-anniversary device appearing across the Mint's 2026 product line.
