The 1923-S Lincoln cent was struck in approximately 8.7 million coins. No Denver cents were produced in 1923, making the 1923-S the only branch-mint issue for the year. The lower mintage gives the 1923-S a modest premium. It is not a semi-key but is less common than the Philadelphia issue and worth more in all grades.
