About this coinHistory

The 1927 Lincoln cent from Philadelphia was struck in approximately 144.4 million coins. Lindbergh flew the Atlantic in May, landing in Paris after 33.5 hours alone in the Spirit of St. Louis. Babe Ruth hit 60 home runs. The Jazz Singer, the first talking picture, premiered. The cent circulated through a year that Americans would remember as the peak of an era. The crash was two years away. The 1927 is a common date.
