About this coinHistory

The 1955 Lincoln cent from Philadelphia was produced in approximately 330.6 million coins. The standard 1955 cent is common in all grades. The date's fame comes entirely from the Doubled Die Obverse variety, which is one of the most famous error coins in American numismatics. A standard 1955 without the doubling is an ordinary Wheat cent worth face value in circulated condition.
