Denver's 2020 Tallgrass Prairie production reached 160,200,000 pieces, running 22.6 million ahead of Philadelphia's 137,600,000 for the same design and ranking as the highest 2020 Denver output across the year's five designs. The Kansas site, Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve in the Flint Hills, protects what remains of an ecosystem that once stretched from southern Manitoba to northern Texas and from western Indiana into eastern Kansas. Less than 4% of the original prairie survives, almost all of it in the Flint Hills' shallow-soil terrain where row-crop conversion was uneconomic. The clad composition follows the standard quarter formula at 75% copper-nickel over a pure copper core, 5.67 grams, 24.26 mm diameter, reeded edge. Counterfeit risk is functionally nil for circulation-strike modern clad quarters at face value.

The 2020-D Tallgrass Prairie is a Regular-classification issue where the registry-grade market lives at MS67 and above. Population reports thin meaningfully at MS68, where the typical 2020 dynamic holds: set-builder demand absorbs the limited high-grade output and listing prices hold their premium. The design closed the 2020 cycle and the 55th slot in the 56-design program, with only the 2021 Tuskegee Airmen issue remaining ahead. Roll hunters in Kansas and the broader Midwest pulled MS65 examples from original Denver bank rolls during the 2020 release window without much trouble.
