About this coinHistory

The 1954-S Lincoln cent was produced in approximately 96.2 million coins. The 1954-S is the last S-mint Wheat cent. San Francisco would not produce Lincoln cents again until the 1968-S proof. The 1954-S carries the quiet distinction of being the final regular-issue Wheat cent from the San Francisco Mint.
