About this coinHistory

The 1941 proof Lincoln cent was the last proof produced before wartime suspension. Approximately 21,100 proofs were struck. Proof production was halted after 1942 and would not resume until 1950. The 1941 proof is the final pre-war brilliant proof and is collected as the endpoint of the 1936-1942 proof run.
