Denver struck 3,500,000 Harry S. Truman dollars in 2015, the opening design of the year and the lead-off issue of the program's fourth NIFC year. Released February 5, 2015, Truman led the four-design 2015 lineup ahead of Dwight D. Eisenhower (April 13), John F. Kennedy (June 18), and Lyndon B. Johnson (August 18). The 3.5 million Denver figure sits a notch below the 2014 Denver baseline (Harding 3.78M, Coolidge 4.48M, Hoover 3.78M, Roosevelt 3.92M), reflecting the modest collector-only print runs the program had settled into. Don Everhart designed and sculpted both sides: the 33rd president's portrait on the obverse and the Statue of Liberty reverse carried across every business strike and proof in the series.

Strike quality on the 2015-D Truman holds up because the lower NIFC output kept dies fresh; the high points of the hair, the eyeglass frames, and the suit-lapel detail typically come up sharp, and the reverse torch flame remains crisp and free of the die fatigue visible on the high-mintage 2007 through 2011 issues. Watch the alloy: manganese-brass tones aggressively to honey, olive, or rose within a year or two of striking, and any 2015-D showing bright lemon-yellow surfaces a decade after issue almost always indicates cleaning. Bag and roll-handling marks remain the dominant grade-limiter at MS66 and MS67, where contact transferred from adjacent coins inside Mint-wrapped rolls is the typical 70-versus-69 question.

The 2015-D Truman sold only through Mint collector channels, packaged in 25-coin rolls, 250-coin boxes, and the annual Mint Set. The date carries weight as the program's lead-off design for the year, the issue the Mint chose to open the 2015 lineup. Original Mint-wrapped rolls and certified MS67 examples remain the standard acquisition paths for collectors building a year-set or NIFC-era subset, and the date trades for modest premiums over face value at the upper grades.
