Johnson dollars in 2015, the closing design of the program year and the August 18 release that wrapped the four-coin succession behind Truman, Eisenhower, and Kennedy. The 3.5 million figure ties Eisenhower for the lowest 2015 Denver output and runs well below the 5.18 million struck for Kennedy, the year's headline draw. Distribution moved through Mint product channels under the Not Intended For Circulation policy in force since December 13, 2011, so 2015-D Johnson dollars reached collectors in 25-coin rolls, 250-coin boxes, and the annual Mint Set rather than through Federal Reserve shipments. Population reports show ample supply at MS66 and MS67, the typical ceiling for satin-finish dollars pulled from Mint-wrapped rolls, and the realistic acquisition path is either an original 25-coin roll for a few dollars over face or an inexpensive certified MS67 from PCGS, the Professional Coin Grading Service.
