About this coinHistory

The 1911-D Lincoln cent was struck at the Denver Mint in a mintage of approximately 12.7 million coins. Denver had begun producing cents in 1911, adding a third mint to the Lincoln cent production alongside Philadelphia and San Francisco. The D mintmark appears below the date on the obverse. The 1911-D is available in circulated grades without unusual difficulty, though it is less common than the Philadelphia issue.
