About this coinHistory

The Philadelphia Mint produced over 5.68 billion cents in 1993. Bill Clinton took office in January, the first Baby Boomer president. The World Trade Center was bombed in February when a truck bomb detonated in the underground parking garage, killing six people and injuring over a thousand. The attack was a precursor to the larger tragedy that would come in 2001.

The 1993 Philadelphia cent carries no mintmark and is common in all grades. It circulated in large quantities during the early months of the Clinton administration. Collectors include it as a standard date in their Memorial cent sets.
