About this coinHistory

The 2006-D Satin Finish cent was included in the annual Uncirculated Mint Set as Denver's contribution. Like the Philadelphia satin cent, it was struck on burnished planchets with specially treated dies. Approximately 847,000 sets were produced.

The "D" mintmark identifies the Denver origin. The satin surface quality distinguishes it from regular circulation strikes. With fewer sets sold than in 2005, the 2006-D Satin Finish is slightly less common but still available through the secondary market.
