About this coinHistory

The 2007 Satin Finish cent from Philadelphia was part of the annual Uncirculated Mint Set. Approximately 895,000 sets were produced, a modest increase from 2006. The coin was struck on a burnished planchet with specially prepared dies, giving it the distinctive soft, even luster of the satin finish format.

The 2007 Satin Finish carries no mintmark. It is available from dealers who sell or disassemble uncirculated sets. The Memorial reverse was now in its penultimate full year; the Mint had announced that 2009 would bring new reverse designs for the Lincoln cent's centennial. Collectors acquiring the 2007 Satin Finish are documenting the final chapter of Frank Gasparro's Memorial design.
