The 1970-S Large Date is one of two date-size varieties produced at San Francisco that year. The Large Date features thicker, bolder numerals in "1970," with the "7" showing a prominent crossbar that extends well to the left. San Francisco's combined 1970 circulation mintage was approximately 693 million, shared among all varieties.
The Large Date is the more common of the two San Francisco date varieties for 1970. It is readily available in circulated and uncirculated grades.
