About this coinHistory

Denver struck over 8.77 billion cents in 2000, bearing the "D" mintmark. The Denver output was enormous, ranking among the highest single-year totals in the series. The coins flooded into an economy that was just beginning to show signs of stress as the technology bubble deflated.

The 2000-D is extremely common. It is one of the highest-mintage coins in the entire Lincoln cent series. Its sheer abundance means it carries no premium above face value.
