About this coinHistory

The 2006-S Proof was struck at San Francisco with a mintage of approximately 3.05 million pieces. The proof set included five more statehood quarters (Nevada, Nebraska, Colorado, North Dakota, and South Dakota) alongside the traditional denominations. The statehood quarter program was approaching its conclusion.

The proof cent features deep mirror fields and fully frosted devices. Deep cameo examples are standard. The 2006-S Proof is affordable and widely available, one of the routine annual issues that collectors acquire to maintain their proof sets.
